The theme of my work came about
through the following quote,
"Photographs are sometimes all
we have to understand ourselves
and the world around us."
This led me to think about what
is true, and what is reality. Thus the idea I decided to explore was that:
To explain consciousness we have
to rely on consciousness, and
so reality is ultimately based on nothing, which is nothing what
is real.
I started to investigate this
through taking photos of glass
bottles. From there, I developed
the work by taking photos of a
variety of objects in my home.
Soon the photos and the editing
of them became influenced by
my research on the following
artist models; Daisuke Yokota,
Paul Rousteau, Trevor Paglen,
Seth Price, and Shaun Waugh.
Thus the final three images I
chose were all of flowers and plants within my home.
